WORKSHOPS FOR SECONDARY and HIGH SCHOOLS
The passing of time fascinates me, yet I also feel the need to stay connected to the present, both in my professional work and in everyday life. The workshops I have designed for lower and upper secondary schools represent, for me, a true immersion in contemporary reality and a valuable opportunity to support young people as they make choices about their future.
My goal is to provide students with tools that help them make informed decisions; and even if their path eventually leads elsewhere, I hope to pass on at least a lasting passion for history and archaeology.
WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT.
The workshops are inspired by the principle of learning by doing and are structured as thematic pathways and interactive sessions.
Some are designed to explore specific fields of knowledge and to introduce students to complex topics in a direct and concrete way, moving beyond stereotypes and oversimplifications. Engaging with present-day reality helps students understand how history can truly be a teacher of life: from legal trials and taxation systems to medicine, aesthetics, jewellery, and hairstyles.
Other workshops highlight how contemporary research is deeply multidisciplinary and how skills can be applied across different fields. In archaeology, the use of tools and techniques borrowed from other disciplines not only helps reconstruct the mosaic of history but also contributes to modern medical research. The Mummy Project, which I founded, is a tangible example of this approach.
MEETING A RESEARCHER.
The programmes combine the acquisition of new knowledge with direct interaction with a researcher actively engaged in the field, in collaboration with universities, museums, and archaeological missions. The main aim is to help students navigate their choice of future studies with confidence, free from fear or taboos.
FORMAT.
All proposals are tailored to the age of the participants, adaptable to the needs of individual classes and teachers, and aligned with the students’ level of preparation. Each workshop can be easily integrated into the school curriculum.
DELIVERY.
Activities take place directly in the classroom or in other agreed-upon spaces.
